So much special surrounds my Natalie and her eighth birthday was no exception; she was baptized in my parents' pool with friends and family watching via Zoom. It was a unique experience and one we will never forget. I'm grateful I was able to capture it.
We did it. We made it to the end of the school year. All things considering, my kids did a pretty good job of adapting. They worked hard and stayed on top of assignments. They learned quite a bit about accountability in the process, too. Proud of these goofballs. The next time I take one of these photos, all six will make an appearance. My six will be in K-6th. Mind blowing.
Last week was emotionally draining. Some weeks are better than others, but last week was particularly difficult. Hence the late post. We continually move forward, but some days I wonder what toward. We adapted to self isolation and found a routine that more or less worked well for us. But this wasn't the way we had anticipated spending the end of the school year. We are unbelievably grateful for the teachers, principal, and support staff of our school. They worked hard over the last several weeks, making content available to students, holding weekly Webex meetings, and gathering personal belongings. Our week. Visiting with the principal and a kinder teacher while picking up belongings at the school. Hitting my limit. Spending time together, bonding over wii games. Enjoying donuts during a breakfast with the teacher Webex meeting. Finding an arrowhead in our backyard. Participating in a Frozen themed Google Chat birthday party. Playing Beanboozled.
If your children EVER try to talk you into playing Beanboozled, do yourself a huge favor and DON'T. If you have already experienced the horror and disgust that is this game, I FEEL YOU IN MY SOUL. Booger. Canned dog food. Toasted marshmallow.
