Aside from my OCD manic search for the PERFECT Easter outfits, our Easter was extremely low-key. So low-key that we skipped dyeing eggs and kept Easter baskets and Easter dinner sweet and simple.

I thought, when I last posted about my struggles, that I was through the worst of it. It turns out that I was wrong. And while I am feeling better TODAY - more so than I have in a long time - I am learning that this and every day process that is requiring endurance, self love, and patience. Throughout it all, though, I have somehow picked up my camera more than I had realized. I have so many images and events to share...
NEW MEXICO. When the older two missed out on Texas, I told them that I would make up for it by taking just the two of them to Carlsbad Caverns. So with maybe a week's worth of notice and planning, we set out over the weekend for the longest short roadtrip ever (or shortest long roadtrip ever?). 2 days. 34 hours total. 18 hours of driving. 1,174 miles. 2 national parks. So many memories. Things I want to remember:
"VROOOOOM" (my oldest was a little slap happy while in the car) * speeding ticket at the NM stateline (oops) * our little car-bee friend, Harold Juan Gregory * WHITE SANDS NATIONAL PARK * finding mountains in NM! * Cloudcroft in all its beauty * seeing snow after playing in the sand * elk * deer * spotting Taco Bell (boys first choice) after pulling out of the drive-thru at Arby's * our awesome hotel room in Carlsbad * CARLSBAD CAVERNS * mountain goats * BBQ for lunch in El Paso * successfully driving over 1,000 miles in two days by myself
