365.5: WEEK TWENTY

 MAY 16th - MAY 22nd

Taking a very sick kitty to an emergency vet clinic and fearing the worst (thankfully, he’s okay now after an injection of meds). Attending 6th grade promotion, where my son got the Presidential Award of Excellence. Saying goodbye to our FAVORITE first grade teacher of all time (who taught all six of my kids over the last seven years). Last day of school! Family birthday party for the middles. Airport travels. Dinner in Downtown Disney. Gearing up for a day at California Adventure.

LAST DAY

We. Freaking. Did. It. We survived another school year. I don’t even care if the boys haven’t combed their hair for days or if someone isn’t getting all As (or just Bs) or if my oldest basically has his earbud attached to his ear like a stupid leech at all times. They did it. They’ve made it through another year of struggles and growth and challenges and expectations. I wish I could do more and be more and give more, but they’re doing, being, giving on their own. They’re incredible.

365.5: WEEK NINETEEN

 MAY 9th - MAY 15th

Making creative crowns. First ever solo paddle to prove to myself that I can. Favorite first grade teacher of all time. Hiking Usery with my best friends (hike 17/52).

MOTHER'S DAY

Mother's Day was pretty simple. I have zero expectations on that day, so sometimes it works in my favor. This year included. And yes, my oldest has now surpassed me in height. Let us all take a moment of silence to mourn this moment...

365.5: WEEK EIGHTEEN

 MAY 2nd - MAY 8th

End of the year orchestra performance for our viola player and cellist. Helping in my 1st grader's class. Playing with Disney World bubbles. Taking a swing at the piƱata at our ward fajita party. Church Mother's Day gifts.

FAVORITE PLACE

Two weeks ago, I was able to sneak away for a quick, little trip to Disneyland with a couple of incredible friends. We rode all of the rides (and thensome!), ate all of the treats (which later caused a major autoimmune reaction), and had a blast! So grateful for friends who share my love of Disney.

HEALING GARDENS

April 25th was a day that was... unbearably heavy for me. So much so that the mr. took a half-day the following day to be with me. We made use of the time together by going to the Desert Botanical Gardens to walk and talk and just... be. And while we might not have said all of the things that should have been said, I found calm. And that's enough.
