NATIONAL ACADEMIC LEAGUE

Each of my kids are doing awesome things, but I really need to give a shout out to my oldest and acknowledge just how increible he and his National Academic League team are. From their very first match, to besting a 10-year undefeated school in the district, to going up against an older cousin (both dads were on NAL together in their youth), to competeing in Nationals at ASU. What an unbelievable season - unbeatable all the way until the National Semifinals. But last week, they final felt the bitter taste of defeat. It was a painful loss for a number of reasons, but there is still so much to be proud of and to celebrate. After all, they are one of the top four NAL teams in the entire nation! These kids are so amazing together and I'm grateful that I got to be there to witness it all.

DISNEY DATE

If it isn't obvious by this point, I love Disneyland. And, because of my annual pass, I am using any opportunity I have to get myself to the Happiest Place on Earth. This time, it was with my favorite human. The mr. and I had been planning this trip for months but when our trip finally arrived, it ended up looking a little different than normal; we slowed down and took our time. With my mental health in a more fragile state, it didn't feel quite as magical as it has in the past. That being said, our trip was a nice, little reprieve from reality because I was with my favorite person in my favorite place. (Warning: lots of drink photos because I can't eat the snacks...)

MADE

A couple of years ago, a friend's sister and her husband opened a healthy drink shop (think Swig or Sodalicious, but MUCH healthier). When the owners of Vibe heard about my new venture in architecture, they put me in touch with their friends who were planning to open their own shop. MADE was one of the first projects that I worked on and now, several months later, plans have been approved, construction has been completed, and doors are open for business. It was surreal walking into a space that I helped create architectural plans for (and the drink was every bit as delicious as the one at Vibe).

365.5: WEEK EIGHT

FEBRUARY 21st - FEBRUARY 27th
Hiking A mountain (and gymnastics becausde that's what I do). Ortho appointment. Visiting MADE. Disneyland and California Adventures with my favorite human.

REN FEST

Two weeks before Covid shut everything down in March of 2020, I enjoyed a visit to the Renaissance Festival with two of my best friends. Two years later, we were finally able to go again - this time with our friend's niece. She wanted to dress up, so it was only obvious that all three girls needed matching outfits (thank you, Amazon). We had a blast watching the shows, eating the food, and checking out the vendors.
