COLOR ME FUN
While the bigs were away for their last day of school, the littles got to go on one last adventure before the start of summer. After some massive waterworks over what shoes to wear and where we would go - because let's keep it real - I made the ultimate call. I decided we would make a trip to the grand opening of the Crayola Experience at Chandler Fashion. Straight off the bat, let me tell you that as a family attraction, it was only so-so. Unlike the Arizona Science Center or Odysea Aquarium, it lacks in space and flow. It felt very reminiscent of Legoland at Arizona Mills - sort of a tight squeeze, free-for-all type of attraction. We started our adventure by coloring some coloring pages. After a little while, I encouraged the littles to move on and see what else there was to experience. They were able to have a picture taken of them that printed out as a coloring page, which was neat. We then started the process of waiting in line for things. Spin art. Crayon molds. Melty pens. We then ventured over to the chalk wall, light board, and interactive screen. The best part of the entire attraction was the chance to customize a couple of crayons to take home. We even had a few extra tokens to use in the model magic vending machines. Overall, it was a good experience. Do I plan to take all six at any point? Never. In all honestly, if felt like glorified coloring. Will I take my youngest when the kids go back to school? Definitely. But then again, she has been OBSESSED with coloring since she was old enough to walk - which was nine months old.
And yes. There are more pictures of her than there are of him. Because he is non-stop, always on the go. She, however, will sit in one spot and color for hours.
