SPRING BREAK

Last year, our spring break just sucked. No sugar coating it. Failed camping experience. Failed splash pad experience. Failed everything. I was determined to make up for it this year and boy did I deliver. We were nonstop on the go. So much so that I forgot my camera a of couple times in the rush of things. It turns out my kids have as much boundless energy as I do, which is great because they didn't have much down-time last week. Here's all that we did:

MONDAY:
park in the morning with friends
family trip to Yogurtland in the afternoon
*no camera, no pictures*

TUESDAY:
Desert Botanical Garden with our favorite neighbor friend
DBG was BEYOND crowded, so last minute change
Papago Park instead - hike Hole in the Rock
pizza for lunch for Pi Day
movie marathon in the afternoon
WEDNESDAY:
meet up with a friend and her six kids at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park
play on the playground for hours & ride the train twice
picnic lunch with our friends before more play
home in the afternoon - another movie marathon
make jello popcorn that gets consumed instantaneously
THURSDAY:
visit friend in Scottsdale who lives next to Camelback Mtn.
friend and I take all six to hike a loop on Echo Canyon Trail
home. lunch. NAPS.
Riverview Park splash pad in the afternoon with friends
Chick-fil-A for dinner after hours of park play

FRIDAY:
wake up bright and early to drive down to Tucson
meet up with friends at Reid Park Zoo
see all the animals and do all the things
picnic lunch at Reid Park next to the zoo
load kids in the car and drive 3 mi to Children's Museum Tucson
play and play and play because children's museums are AMAZING
make the long journey home and arrive just in time for dinner
SATURDAY:
get a speeding ticket on the freedway - so FUN
hike Piestewa Peak with the oldest two
date night

FLY AWAY

I'm carrying my camera around more. And by more, I mean that I have photographed like two events since the beginning of the year. A big Spring Break post will be coming down the road, but for now, let's rewind a month to when I took the youngest three to the Commemorative Air Force Museum at Falcon Field. I've been pretty diligent about preschool this year and a trip to see planes was absolutely necessary for our unit on the letter P. We had learned all about elevators and shafts, cockpits and cargo holds, so it was fun to see the planes up close. I think there was a unanimous decision that the little pedal plane was the favorite. And we can safely say that the baby HATED going inside the bomber...
