MEMORIAL DAY CAMPING TRIP

Somewhere, somehow, we've become a camping family. Which is sort of hilarious given the fact that I never really went camping until recently (I went like twice in my youth, but neither trip was a good experience). But I can't get enough. Maybe it's the fresh air. Or the chance to explore. Or maybe it's because it's the only time my ridiculous OCD goes out the window and I can just... be. Whatever the reason, I love it. And our camping trips just keep getting longer. This time, we braved three nights with family and friends.

FRIDAY:
10am start - car won't start
jump the car and decided to risk it
make it up to the Rim near Heber around 1pm
lunch and set up camp
play with bubbles
write in nature journals
hamburgers for dinner
chill

SATURDAY:
wake and play a card game in the tent
get around to making breakfast
find caterpillar and play with him for hours
take turns riding in our friends' Ranger
play fetch with friends' dog
pass the pig and walkie talkies, FTW
nachos for dinner
chill

SUNDAY:
wake up and eat breakfast
lounge around camp
paint pictures (and rocks) with washable paint
find horse bones on nature walk with friends
create home for our caterpillar friend who returned
family hike to the [not so very] edge of the Rim
hotdogs for dinner
roast marshmallows for s'mores
chill

MONDAY:
no chill

last rides in the Ranger
find six more caterpillars to add to the box
home by 12pm
