365: WEEK 21

I have been trying to unwind and relax this past week. After the rush of photography sessions, I wanted to spend time with my family for birthdays and the holiday weekend. We have had so much fun together: aquarium trip, Barro's, Sweet Tooth Fairy, sprinklers with neighbors, indoor picnic dinner & movie, zoo trip, California Pizza Kitchen, first swim of the season, and steak dinner. Our weekend couldn't have been better. My favorite image of the week: May 24th - Sprinklers. While I adore both of the birthday photos so, so much, the Sprinklers one just makes my heart happy. It was one of those one-time-only shots. The littles were playing with their friends across the street - little splash pool, slip-n-slide, sprinklers. My oldest jumped through the water like this ONCE and I was fortunate enough to have my camera trained on him. I absolutely LOVE this photo (click on the photo to be brought to the full resolution image, which is seriously awesome).

365: WEEK 20

Oh. My. Gosh. I looked at my blog before writing this and realized that it has been TWO WEEKS since I last posted. I have been so busy/tired/nose-in-a-book lately that I didn't know anything was amiss. So if you haven't done so yet, scroll down and check out last week's photos. Or check them out when you are done here. I'm not picky. This past week has been just as crazy as the two weeks preceding it. I photographed a wedding. I photographed prom couples (not pictured). Mutual. Home repair. Children. Etc. My two favorite images of the week: May 15th - Play Food & May 16th - Wedding Photography. Nene is a doll. Don't get me wrong, the girl has a spitfire personality without doubt. But just watching her play is one of my favorite things. She is cute and clever. And the wedding photo. Guys. I was a little nervous about this. I have shot weddings before, but always with a second or as a second. This was solo. Just me. Alone. And it couldn't have gone better. The bride and groom were fantastic, not to mention gorgeous. Everything just fell perfectly into place.

365: WEEK 19

Seriously. Sorry I am so late in posting this, friends. Turns out that I am only half functioning when photographing a wedding. I focused so much on the wedding itself that I basically forgot everything else. Including my children. Just kidding. Maybe. It was a crazy week, which ended with me in tears. Because half functioning and caring for five little ones does that sometimes. My favorite image of the week: May 9th - Youngest & Oldest. This was a play off of THIS picture back in January. Jojo was holding the baby one evening and I thought, "Wow. So much has changed in such a short time. I need to photograph that". So I did. And I love their expressions.

365: WEEK 18

I have been swamped with photography. Five photo shoots in eight days. Which means I have been doing nothing but editing for my clients in my "spare time". Because, you know. I have a ton of spare time. I can't complain, though. I enjoy what I do and each session is an opportunity for professional growth. My favorite image of the week: May 6th - Sweet, Little Curls. I wish I could have gotten a sharper image, but that is nigh on impossible with a 2 year old who hates being photographed. But I HAD to capture Nene's curls before they grow out and fade away. I didn't do a thing to her hair that day; those curls are completely natural. I love to play with them whenever she gives me the opportunity to do so. Which is basically never.
