365: WEEK 17

Another week has flown by. Guys, I am not sure if you are aware, but the year is already a third of the way over. Seriously. WHEN? Anyway. Major events of the week: Fathers & Sons and Pat's Run. Obviously, I did not go to Fathers & Sons. That would just be awkward. Instead, I had a "sleepover" with Nene. It was so much fun - until we got to the sleeping part. Why is it that imagination vs reality is so different in that department? The thought of snuggling up with my best little friend just seems so magical in my mind. In reality, she is kicking or hitting me once every hour all night long. I was wide awake at 2:15am thinking the morning had come. Sigh. When the morning DID come, she and I set out - with the baby - to Pat's Run. I am sad that I didn't run it this year, but I was glad for the excuse of pushing a stroller when I thought of training for the race. The weather could not have been any more perfect. And whether running or pushing a stroller, 4.2 miles is 4.2 miles. My favorite image of the week: April 24th - Happiness. Big Ben (not sure if this nickname will stick) was just smiling away at his Daddy, so of course I love this shot. Not to mention, the lighting was lovely.

That beautiful bouquet? My husband bought it for me last night. For absolutely no reason other than because he thought of me.

365: WEEK 16

My oldest, the mr., and I have been under the weather today, so the lack in preschool gave me time to edit this past week's photos. We pretty much did Easter activities all week. I found this week that the ideas I had in mind for my photo of the day often weren't my favorite images. Instead, I went with photos that were better representations of the day as a whole, not just close-ups of particular details. My favorite image of the week: April 22nd - Mr. Potato Head. Do you KNOW how difficult it is to capture this ball of energy?! I swear, the kid never stops. This was very much a spontaneous photo as I had given no thought to what I would photograph today. Wiped out with feeling "blah" all day. So this guy came to my 365 rescue and gave me a silly moment to capture.

Oh yeah. Those gorgeous Easter eggs I made to use as Easter dinner place markers? I totally forgot them at home.

365: WEEK 15

My confidence is falling. I post my photos [almost] daily on 365project.org. I have received zero comments the last few days, which is killing me. I thrive on validation. My love language: words of affirmation. So when I don't get comments, I take it personally. I am aware this is silly and no, I am not fishing for compliments. I swear.
Moving on…
So. This last week has been fun. Potty training. Date night. Zoo outing. Reading books. Not REALLY potty training. I put Nene on the toilet for the heck of it to see what would happen. She has some interest, but isn't quite ready. We'll revisit after Easter. Friday was a trip to the zoo. We will probably go a few more times, but it is getting too hot. Which is why we spent most of the time at the zoo's splash pads. On Saturday, the mr. insisted on taking me out on a date. So grateful; I needed that break. We went to Picazzo's and ate waaaaay too much food. Then followed it up with a trip to Mesa Fro Yo. Monday brought the surprise of Joel reading an entire book by himself. I knew he was close, but man. That kid is awesome. Makes me proud. My favorite image of the week: April 10th - Sweet Lady. If you have followed me through my other blog, you might remember THIS POST. My dear friend's little ladybug. So when I caught this image in one try, I cried. I can't see a ladybug without thinking of Amy & Ella.

365: WEEK 14

This week has been a roller coaster. Oh man. Major ups and downs. Somehow, I managed to come out on top. Last Friday evening, I was feeling pretty much broken. My oldest had shoved a friend off of a half-wall at the park (no injuries other than egos). I remembered a book that was due (that day) after arriving at the library. The mr. and I were NOT on the same page about a few things, therefore affecting our relationship. It was a mess. But then wonderful conference came and Elder Bednar went and gave THIS talk. Pretty sure I will be printing it out and reading it every night. The stars have aligned and all is right in the world again. A friend made mention that that always seems to happen around conference time. Truth. My favorite image this week: April 2nd - Strawberry Fields Forever. I had fun trying to get this shot and I think I nailed it. I LOVE the colors. And the detail.

365: WEEK 13

This week has been another crazy one. Seems like that is pretty much the story of my life. We just go, go, go. The funny thing is, I like the chaos of it all; I feel more organized and accomplished when things are hectic. No major events in particular this past week. We are just always on the move. My favorite image this week: March 27th - My Little Nene. This girl has my heart. My boys do as well, of course. But something about having a little girl just brings a smile to my face. Maybe it is because I always wanted a mini-me growing up. And I got one.

Not loving this last photo, but I seriously didn't pull my camera out until around 8pm. Came home to find
the mr. taking down the paper snowflakes I had procrastinated in packing away two months ago… Love him.
